Firstly, congratulations to our lucky prize winning brides who entered our free wedding dress prize draw. We had tons of fun meeting you all and seeing the collection being tried out. We couldn’t ask for a better response and appreciate all your feedback.

We have the lowdown on the new dresses for those of you who couldn’t make it for the launch.

2013 collection: Aunchalee, Jade, Jillian and Pnina Tornai

What can you expect in the new Aunchalee Boutique collections?

We’ve mentioned many of our designers before by name, but it’s about time we told you a little more about them and what to expect in their new collections.

Jillian’s new collection was inspired by a blooming flower. Together Massimo Moles and Valeria Prisco have developed Jillian to have the essential elements of quality and creativity in each and every dress with particular focus on the most beautiful and desired fabrics. The line features soft and delicate materials including organza, tulle and lace. Jillian has taken the typical lace gown and reshaped it from its classic appearance for a modern twist that is also light to wear. Just like a petal.

New York based designer Pnina Tornai has added some exquisite dresses to her collection that vary from elegant and classic to daring and sophisticated. The construction of the dresses is every girl’s dream for her wedding day with Pnina’s uniquely developed corsetry. Her attention to detail is second to none with the use of genuine Swarovski crystals and stones.

Jade designer Fabrice Boulongne has kept to his usual refined style with the use of soft chiffons and gentle organzas paired with textured tulles. His collection combines a look of femininity with an ethereal glow by combining elegant shapes with ornate beaded embellishments. Jade takes simple styles and adds quirky pieces to the design to give it a bohemian feel.

Of course last but not least, our very own Aunchalee has collaborated with our made-to-measure designer Yannick Mazioux, to create a selection of dresses that oozes romanticism. The collection captures the essence of today’s modern woman and given her dresses with simple lines and unique silhouettes combined together for an exclusive look to make her own. We believe that your wedding dress should not just be a pretty dress that looks good. Your wedding dress should act as an extension of yourself where you can express your personality with the use of detachable sleeves and trains. This allows for your style to change throughout the day, just as your mood changes throughout the day too. The dresses have been crafted to not only compliment your figure but also to mould to your body acting like a second skin.

Something for everyone

No matter what kind of bride you are, whether you want to be a classic beauty, a glamorous goddess or a boho babe, there is literally something for everyone. See what we have to offer you.

Adventurous Romantic

You would like soft and delicate lines but something that will separate you from the majority. Jillian starts us off with her featured style. The 95814 dress is a classic A-line shape in tulle with delicate lace detail across the bust finished off with this unique silk organza petal arrangement that drapes asymmetrically across the bust and down into the skirt and detailed with lace appliqués. The lilac colour reflects the summer flowers that inspired the design and allows you to really make a statement. For those of you that love this style but not daring enough to wear this colour, it can be made in ivory too.

Jillian also offers us a tulle ball gown with lace petal shaped drape. The lace bodice has a flattering sweetheart neckline which doesn’t plunge too much to keep the look sweet and innocent looking. A crystal belt detail defines the waist and balances the shape out from the full skirt. An under layer of soft tulle gives the dress a light airy feel, and in addition the contrasting explosion of lace on the skirt provides the dress with a more contemporary look.

Jade offers us 7203, an a-line skirt made up of multiple layers of flowing organza together with an irregular take on a sweet heart neckline. The bodice is made up of pleated organza that flatters your top half and is finished off with a crystal and pearl embellished belt that is great for highlighting your teeny tiny waist.

Aunchalee’s Annika is made of a silk organza with a distinctive skirt that has large but still soft ruffle detail which waterfalls down either side of the skirt. It is coupled with a lovely lace bodice that can be worn either strapless or with a sheer slash neckline lace detail that is detachable. This leaves you the freedom to change your look throughout your wedding day. Go from conservative with a high neckline for your Thai ceremony to relaxed, with the straps taken off turning your dress strapless for the evening reception. Two looks for the price of one is not a bad deal!

Not too keen on organza and lace? Anita, also by Aunchalee, is a tulle number with a 3-tiered petal drape skirt that gives the sense of a delicate flower. It is accompanied by a quirky pleated neckline that gives it a slight edgy look and is joined to the skirt by a cute satin high waisted bow.

Hollywood Glamour

It’s all about the glamour for you and you will have nothing short of a sensational red carpet masterpiece for your wedding.

You’ve all seen Pnina Tornai’s backless creations before and she doesn’t disappoint with her latest daring design. The dress is made of a figure hugging satin that exudes confidence as you certainly cannot be shy to wear this one. The scalloped lace softens the backless edge and gives a stunning view from behind. Make sure you have a pretty pert bottom for this one!

We have many brides that want to embrace their Chinese heritage. Aunchalee has created Sky which features a mandarin collar with freshwater pearl detail. The dress is made of a luxurious satin that is graceful with a hint of sultry glamour from the leg slit in the skirt to expose just a tad bit of skin.

Classic Beauty

You prefer a simple look for your dress that is characterised by shape and fabric rather than overpowering details.

Pnina Tornai has spoilt us with two fabulously elegant silk dresses. The first is 4067, a timeless full ball gown with a ruched bodice that has been fantastically constructed so that the lace back detail pulls in and defines the waist. The sweetheart neckline is typically elegant and the look is completed with an oversized bow detail on the back. The second is 4058 which is quite the opposite in shape but still just as classic as the first. The fitted mermaid cut puts emphasis on a sculpted figure and is again fitted with a corset that provides a streamline silhouette.

Aunchalee’s classic creation is a silk chiffon piece, by the name of Anya, with a high waist and delicate lace appliquéd to one side of the bodice. It has a thick strap that can either be worn off the shoulders or as cap sleeves that provide shoulder coverage that is perfect for a church wedding. The sleeve also does a great job at disguising any flabby armpits!

Going for something simple doesn’t necessarily mean you have to have a completely plain fabric. Though lace is heavily detailed, the cut of the dress is what really defies the test of time. Jade has a beautiful slender shaped lace dress that has some light shoestring straps and a narrow waisted belt tied in a bow. This style is pure elegance that you can be certain will never age.

Modern Vintage

Everyone loves a vintage and we have brought this popular style forward to the 21st century by giving the designs a slight contemporary twist without taking away from the sought after retro look.

Aunchalee has the incredible Sacha dress. From the front it is has a soft a-line cut with broad lace straps that cut down into a sweetheart neckline.  From the back it has a stunning low back detail that remains modest with a sheer buttoned back that has a light coverage of lace appliqués. The well constructed bodice of this dress is an extra bonus as you need not worry about not being able to wear a bra.

Aunchalee also presents us with Addie, a silk mermaid styled dress. As a strapless dress it is simple yet demure with a few lace pieces. When united with the Victorian inspired jacket it suddenly looks like a completely different dress. The jacket is completely sheer with a high collar and a distinctive balloon sleeve feature. The jacket finishes at the waist to define and slim and also has a ruffle detail that drapes down the skirt that cleverly gives it the appearance of being one piece.

Pnina has also attempted the modern vintage style by combining a slender lace dress with soft cap sleeves and adding a keyhole back detail which exposes the back. From the front the neckline plunges down into a daring v shape finished with a sweet bow detail under the bust. The front panel of the bodice around the waist is made of a sheer lace. This is definitely a style that is verging more towards avant-garde fashion than your traditional lace dress. If you find this a little too fashion forward you need not worry. The front panel is available to order with a lining so that you are not showing off too much skin.

Not forgetting Jade who manages this look with ease. The 7209 is a slim fitting a-line dress in a beautiful fine lace has a one shoulder detail that collects into a lace layered flower detail. This links to the sheer back that dips down low but maintains a gracefulness about it with the lace coming up to the shoulder.

Jade’s other modern take on a vintage dress comes in the form of 7220, a rather bohemian looking dress. Again, it has a one shoulder detail but this time has a loose sleeve that drapes down the arm in an ornate lace and the waist is outlined by a cute little bow. Perfect for a lovely garden wedding with close family and friends celebrating with you.

Try it for yourself

You may have noticed that many of the designers have paid a lot of attention to the back detail of the dresses, and it’s about time too! For years the backside of the wedding dress has been neglected and most work has gone into the front of the dress. It’s refreshing to finally see that all aspects of the dresses have been taken into consideration, providing you with a dress that is nothing short of perfection.

There are many more styles that we have not yet mentioned and we believe there is definitely something that will be perfect for you. A lot of hard work has gone into creating the best designs for this collection and the best way to appreciate the beauty of the fabrics used and the hand worked beading is to see it all in person. So please do not hesitate to give us a little visit. You are more than welcome to pop in where Misha will be on hand to help you answer all your questions and try on what could be THE dress.
