& You by Aunchalee Boutique featuring Annie

Today I would like to talk about an all time favorite style of mine that I notice is becoming more popular in Thailand is the minimalist style wedding dress. So I thought today would be a good opportunity for me to share with you my interpretation on what I think the perfect minimalist dress would look like.

“Beauty in Simplicity” – that is my ethos for the perfect minimalist wedding dress. It can come in the form of geometric lines, a dash of embellishment or strategic lace placement, but at the end of the day, the silhouette must be clean and ultimately, the dress should be sewn with “modern seam locations”. Below is a brief walk-through of the journey our bride Annie and I went through when deciding on her perfect wedding dress.

Example 1:

Our in-house designer helped sketch out a rough design on how the wedding dress will turn out.

We started off with a general discussion about her lifestyle and fashion sense as I find it very important when designing, to understand the person you are designing the dress for. After a period of discussion, we established what Annie was looking for was a minimalistic dress and together we sat and started to design her dream wedding dress.

An overview of the reasons why we chose to do what we did :

1. Neckline : The bride has a stunning figure and wants a way to really show it off. A plunging-V neckline really helped elongate her upper body, giving her more height.
2. Leg Slit : Helps create an illusion of long legs.
3. Halter neck : After trying on a few necklines, we discovered that the halter neck framed her shoulders and bodice beautifully.
4. Size of gown : The minimalistic look can come in a variety of different volumes. For example it can be the ballgown or the trumpet gown. Annie and I decided to go with the modified A-Line because we felt it suited her slender body perfectly.
